The ingredients needed to make Pork butt:
  1. Prepare 4-6 lb pork butt
  2. Take Plenty of salt, pepper, onion and garlic powders, I used Everglades seasoning also but if you don’t have that use season salt
  3. Take Olive oil
  4. Make ready Tablespoon bacon fat
  5. Get 1/3 cup hot water w/one beef bullion cube dissolved in it
  6. Prepare 1 onion, chopped
  7. Prepare 4 cloves garlic, minced

Pork butt, when it's cooked low and slow, turns so tender and succulent it can easily be shredded with a fork. Season all sides of the pork with salt and pepper. Combine the Creole seasoning and olive oil in a small bowl to make a paste. Wash off pork butt and pat dry with paper towels.

  1. Heat olive oil and bacon fat in a heavy iron skillet or large heavy pot. Season your pork butt aggressively with all the seasonings. Start browning your butt on all sides well.
  2. In your crockpot, lay a bed of a coarsely chopped onion and about 4 large minced garlic cloves. Lay your browned butt in your crockpot, fat side up.
  3. Poor in the water and bullion, cover and let cook for about 5 hours on high. When the bone slides out, it’s done.

Combine the Creole seasoning and olive oil in a small bowl to make a paste. Wash off pork butt and pat dry with paper towels. Rub a layer of mustard on the pork butt. We like to use disposable plastic gloves so our hands don't smell all day. Generously cover the pork in the rub.
