- Get 12 cup water
- Make ready 1 packages soft tortilla
- Make ready 1 onion

- Get 1 dash adobo seasoning
Tuck this slow-cooked beef into a tortilla and smother it with salsa and you've got yourself a taste of taco heaven.- Rinse the beef tongue with water and place in your crockpot, add onion, garlic, bay leaf, salt, and water. Before you remove tongue from crock pot prep the rest of the ingredients for toppings, etc. (the lime is for a squeeze over your tacos). Garnish with these as you like. Sometimes I just put cilantro, scallions, a touch of avocado, salt, pepper & lime but experiment!
Steps to make Beef tongue tacos:
- bring water to boil in a pot ..toss in tongue. boil for about 2 1/2 hours while adding more water occasionally
- drain out half the liquid and keep put over medium heat.take tongue out and peel of skin. once peeled slice and dice in really small pieces.toss back in pot.
- add seasoning and lower flame to simmer for about half hour.
- take tortillas and heat up over low flame slightly .
- serve in tortilla and also goes best with pico de gallo.(in my recipes also)

Garnish with these as you like. Sometimes I just put cilantro, scallions, a touch of avocado, salt, pepper & lime but experiment! Tacos de lengua (beef tongue tacos) hold a special place in my memories. When my then boyfriend, Richard (husband), came to visit and meet my family for the first time, my Mom prepared tacos de lengua. He had never had real Mexican food, let alone beef tongue tacos, lol!!
